Mobile upset the Blue Raiders

It wasn't the start David Coffey and the Blue Raiders wanted, but going down 2-1 in defeat to the University of Mobile, showed many positives for a bright Spring season ahead.

It took just 18 seconds for the Rams to get on the board, in what was already their 3rd match of the Spring. They doubled their lead in the 30th minute, before Lindsey Wilson pulled one back five minutes later. A goalless second half succumbed the Blue Raiders to defeat in their opening game. David Coffey recorded three saves, as LWC outshot UM 10-6 over the course of the contest.

The University of Mobile is always a tough place to go, especially on the opening game of the season, as UM were ranked inside the top 10 in the last Coaches' Top 25 Poll back in 2019. LWC found themselves ranked #4 in that poll. This bodes well for a strong Spring season if the Blue Raiders can dust themselves off, and find that winning spark. Not the start they wanted, but plenty of positives to take from the game "in the jungle". Onto the next one.

Lindsey Wilson travel to Campbellsville (Ky.) on February 16th for their next match, as they look to get back to winning ways.
